Autonomous machines are typically used in larger areas and are ideal for cleaning in open spaces.The ICE Cobotics Cobi 18 is a compact autonomous scrubber sized for tight aisles and detailed cleaning in retail stores, convenience stores, grocery locations, healthcare facilities, and hospitality settings. Its 18.8 inch cleaning path and side brushes that extend past the body let it scrub close to shelving, displays, and walls, reducing the detail work staff would otherwise do by hand.
Cobi 18 learns its cleaning routes through a teach-and-repeat process: a staff member guides it through a route once, and the machine repeats that route on its own afterward, or a traced perimeter lets it fill in the interior automatically. Its navigation system scans the surrounding environment, including around mirrors and windows, and detects and avoids people and objects in real time using a combination of onboard sensors. Cleaning runs can be scheduled ahead of time, started with one button, or switched to manual mode for spot cleaning.
The scrubber holds a 2.6 gallon solution tank and 2.9 gallon recovery tank, enough for one charge-and-fill cycle to cover roughly 90 to 120 minutes of scrubbing, at a projected rate of 5,000 to 7,000 square feet an hour. Autonomous travel speed reaches up to 1.12 miles per hour, and the machine recharges in about 3 hours on its lithium-ion battery.
